Aqualopers and Wolves Swim to Rare Tie

Skylar Tatreau
Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney women's swimming team won five events to tie Northern State, 130-130, Friday night in the Cushing Pool.

This was UNK's final home dual of the 2014-15 season. With the rare tie, the Aqualopers are now 3-1-1.

The night's final event was the 400 free relay and the Wolves managed a win (3:49.80) to pick up 11 points. UNK's "A" team was a close second (3:50.95) with a "B" team third (4:05:02); that equaled out to six points and the tie.

Tekamah junior Skylar Tatreau once again paced Kearney as she placed first in the 100 backstroke (1:04.33), 500 free (5:42.57) and 400 individual medley (5:02.41). She also was anchor on the 400 free team.

In her final appearance at home, Oklahoma senior Shelby Laramore won the 1,650 free (19:38.12) with Kansas freshman Alana Bucholtz first in the 50 backstroke (31.51). Also swimming in Kearney for the final time were Kayleigh Jones (Glendale, Ariz.) and Ashley McHugh (Lewisville, Texas).

The Aqualopers are off until the annual Mutual of Omaha Invite on December 5-6.
