Kearney, Neb. - The Nebraska-Kearney softball team gets a rare chance to play indoors as they take part in the Kelly Laas Memorial/Regional Crossover Tournament this weekend in St. Cloud, Minn.
The tournament, bringing together MIAA and NSIC (Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference) schools, will be played in the Husky Dome on artificial surface.
UNK (1-5) will play four NSIC squads that have all yet to play in 2014. The foursome is Augustana (3:00 p.m./Fri.), Wayne State (5:00 p.m./Fri.), Concordia-St. Paul (6:00 p.m./Sat.) and the host SCSU Huskies (9:00 a.m./Sun.).

Over the first six games, sophomore DP
Kaitlin Hehnke leads the Lopers with a .385 average. Besides three doubles, she had a three-run homer in UNK's 12-3 win over William Jewell.

Mallory Noakes (Lincoln SW).

Bailey Backhuus has one with with senior
Brittnie Kreiser (Council Bluffs, Ia.) and sophomore
Taryn Trosper (Grand Island) each having fanned nine.
