Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Freshman lefty Hondo Pearcy threw 8.2 strong innings and his teammates turned four double plays to help NW Missouri State beat Nebraska-Kearney, 8-3, Sunday afternoon in Coffeyville, Kans.

The Bearcats (5-5, 2-2) and Lopers (8-3, 2-2) split the four-game series that was scheduled to be played in Kearney.

Finally for Northwest, they turned double plays in the second, third, fourth and seventh innings.

Loper leadoff hitter Brandon Landanger (Kearney H.S.) went 3 for 4 with junior shortstop Dillon Schroeder (Kearney Catholic H.S.) going 2 for 4. On the mound, North Platte sophomore Joe Smidt threw 1.2 innings of scoreless relief.

UNK plays a four-game series at Southwest Baptist next week. Due to SBU's religious affiliation, the series will be played Thursday-Saturday.
