Michael Hahn struck out eight to help Nebraska-Kearney beat Fort Hays State, 8-5, Monday afternoon in Kansas.

The Lopers (13-6, 7-5) swept the four game series by a combined score of 53-11. UNK hit .385 in the series, tallying 23 doubles and seven home runs.

Meanwhile, FHSU falls to 3-12 (2-10).

Kearney scored two in the first and third innings but a two-run homer from Casey Sedbrook in the Tiger third cut the Loper lead in half.

After three scoreless innings for both teams, UNK cross home plate three times in its half of the seventh. Ayoub (3 for 5, two runs & three RBI's) blasted a two-run shot to left and, after a pitching change, Droll (3 for 5) hit a solo dinger.

Also at the plate, sophomore
Anthony Pacheco went 2 for 4 with two runs. He went 11 for 17 (.647) in the series with eight runs and three RBI's.

On the hill, Hahn (Fremont) allowed three earned in 7.2 innings to win for the first time in 2014. He didn't walk a batter in shutting out Hays for nearly seven innings.

UNK has its home opening series this Friday-Sunday when national power Central Missouri (12-7, 9-3) comes to Memorial Field.
