Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Wayne State juniors Kelcie Bormann and Sara Scheffert each tossed complete games to help the Wildcats sweeps Nebraska-Kearney, 6-2 and 4-3, Wednesday afternoon in Wayne.
 
The 'Cats, coming off an eight-game Florida road trip, improve to 11-5 while UNK falls to 4-16.
Grand Island junior 
Taryn Trosper (1-7) gave up just one hit over the first innings of game one. The 'Cats sixth inning featured a leadoff double by Bormann (6-1) as well as four singles.
 
Wayne also took advantage of two walks and a hit batter. In the second game, they tallied two in the third thanks to three walks and a hit batter.
 
Bormann fanned nine in tossing a complete game four-hitter. She blanked UNK over the final four innings while walking just two and hitting none.
 
Senior 
Sarah Rome (Blair) and junior 
Mackenzie Tomlin (Grand Island) had RBI's for the Lopers. Rome then belted a two-run homer, her 21st as a Loper, in the top of the sixth in game two.
 
However, Scheffert (5-3) retired the next four in order to earn the win.
Sophomore first baseman Katie Ruwe (Blair) went 2 for 3 in the losing effort with Wayne getting two RBI's from both Meagan Hagemann and Sam O'Brien.
 
UNK is at Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State this weekend. UCO is defending Division II national champions.
