Brittnie Kreiser
Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Senior Brittnie Kreiser threw a complete game two-hitter to power Nebraska-Kearney to a 5-0 win over Lindenwood in the second game of a double header Saturday at Dryden Park.

The Lions (10-13, 4-4) scored 11 unanswered runs to win game one, 11-3 (6 innings).

Kreiser (Council Bluffs, Ia.) didn't allow a hit over the first 5.1 innings. Finishing with four K's and two walks, she only gave up an infield single in the sixth and a leadoff single to left in the seventh.

Now 3-5 on the year, Kreiser got all the support she needed when UNK (6-20, 4-10) scored four times in the fourth.

Senior center fielder Mackenzie Tomlin (Grand Island) had a two out, two-run single to right center with seniors Whitney Frederick (2 for 3) and Jen Kramer (North Platte) having the other RBI's in the key inning.

Also, Ralston freshman left fielder Taylre Keenan went 2 for 4 and Blair sophomore first baseman Kate Ruwe was 2 for 2.

Keenan had a two-run single to left to put UNK up 3-0 after two innings in game one. However, LWU scored six times in the top of the third and then added four more in the sixth.

A 14-hit Lion attack featured homers by first baseman Courtney Opich (2 for 3, three RBI's) and third baseman Diedre Merli with three others knocking in two apiece. On the mound, junior Kendall Ryndak (3-4) threw a complete game five-hitter with seven K's.

UNK hosts the Lincoln Blue Tigers Sunday at 11:00 a.m.
