Taryn Trosper each threw complete games and the Nebraska-Kearney offense had 20 hits in a sweep of Lincoln, 7-1 and 10-2 (5 innings), Sunday at Dryden Park.
The Lopers (8-20, 6-10) have now won three straight with the Blue Tigers (3-24, 0-14) still winless in league play.
In game one, Trosper (Gran Island) allowed one earned run over seven innings. Fanning two, walking one and hitting one, she blanked Lincoln for the final four innings.
At the plate, Elmwood sophomore catcher
Erin Dwyer went 3 for 3 with two RBI's and Blair sophomore first baseman
Kate Ruwe went 1 for 3 with two RBI's.
UNK drew seven walks and took advantage of three Lincoln errors to score two runs in the third, fifth and sixth innings. Just three of the Loper runs were earned with the Blue Tigers getting a solo homer from shortstop sam Kircher (2 for 3) in the third.
Kreiser (Council Bluffs, Ia.) won for the fourth time in 2014 as she gave up two earned on four hits and a walk in the night cap. Striking out two, she was staked to a 4-0 first inning lead as Blair senior third baseman
Sarah Rome (2 for 3, two runs) hit a two-run single to left center.
Later, junior shortstop
Mallory Noakes (2 for 3) had a two-run single in the fourth and Rome belted a two-run dinger, her fourth of the year, to highlight a four-run fifth. Finally, Ruwe went 2 for 3 with two RBI's and North Platte senior catcher
Jen Kramer was 2 for 2.
UNK heads to Missouri Western State and NW Missouri State next Saturday and Sunday.
