Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney baseball team pounded out 18 hits and took advantage of five errors to wallop Fort Hays State, 18-0 (7 innings), Saturday afternoon in Kansas.
 
This was the first of a four game series, which was moved back a day due to weather.
 
UNK (10-6, 4-5) scored two runs in each of the first two innings before erupting for seven in the fourth. They then tacked on three in the fifth and four more in the seventh.
 
From the eight hole, freshman DH 
Dallas Schramm (Millard North) went 2 for 4 with five RBI's. He belted his first collegiate home in the seventh, a three-run shot.
 
Next, juniors 
Brandon Landanger (Kearney H.S.), 
Coby Roming (Canyon, Texas) and 
Dillon Schroeder (Kearney Catholic H.S.) each had three hits and combined for four of NK's eight doubles.
Finally at the plate, Roming and juniors 
Max Ayoub (Grand Island) and 
Danny Droll (Penrose, Colo.) each knocked in a pair of runs.
 
On the mound, Lincoln senior 
Adam Peters threw a two-hit complete game shutout. Fanning seven and walking four, he improves to 3-1.
 
The two teams play a double header tomorrow beginning at 1:00 p.m.
