Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Missouri Western State scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning of game two to sweep a double header from Nebraska-Kearney, 5-1 and 6-5, Saturday in St. Joseph, Mo.
The Griffons improve to 26-14 (11-7) while the Lopers fall to 8-22 (6-12).
UNK was poised for a 5-4 win but Western sandwiched two singles around a fly out to start its half of the seventh.
Grand Island junior Taryn Tropser came in relief of senior
Brittnie Kreiser (Council Bluffs, Ia.) and left fielder Sydney Washington (3 for 4, two runs & two RBI's) greeted her with a single to center. On the play, UNK committed an error, allowing the winning run to score from first.

Kate Ruwe went 2 for 4 with two RBI's with freshman leadoff hitter
Taylre Keenan 2 for 4 with one run knocked in.
Senior Jackie Bishop improved to 17-6 by fanning 10 in the first game. Walking three, she no-hit UNK until Ruwe led off the seventh with a homer to left.
At the plate, lead off hitter Bre Fleschner went 3 for 3 with Taylor Anding 1 for 2 with one run and three RBI's. Western scored all of its runs in the third thanks to three hits and two Loper errors.
Kearney is at NW Missouri State on Sunday.
