Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The 13th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team hit .337 and had nine more service aces to sweep Missouri Southern State (-16, -14, -20) Saturday afternoon in Joplin.
 
The Lopers are now 23-5 (11-3) with the Lions falling to 2-22 (1-12).                                                                         
 
Hitting .462 (13-1-26) in the first set and .444 (16-4-27) in the second, UNK never trailed in the match. Lincoln sophomore middle Tara Ziegelbein (12), Yutan sophomore outside Kaitlynn Thomas (11) and Omaha junior right side Annie Wolfe (10) each had double digit kill totals with Southern mustering just 26 kills as a team.
 
The MIAA leader in service aces coming into the weekend, the Lopers got four today from junior outside Skyler Erickson (Greeley), two from senior setter Erin Seele (Johnstown, Colo.) and sophomore DS Allie Massanet (Manhattan, Kans.) and one from freshman DS Morgan Stute (Kearney Catholic H.S.).
 
Seele added 36 assists, five digs and three kills in five swings (.600 pct.) with Wolfe at two blocks and seven digs.
 
MSSU was led by middle Callie Whetstone, who finished with nine kills and seven blocks.
 
UNK hosts NW Missouri State and Missouri Western State next weekend.
