Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers won eight events to easily get past the Morningside Mustangs,
140-82, Friday night in Iowa.
Seniors
Skylar Tatreau and
Brianna Monter both won two individual events and swam on winning relay teams.
In the dual's final event, the 200 free relay, Tatreau (Tekamah) swam anchor for a UNK foursome that turned in a 1:47.79. Earlier, she won the 200 free (2:03.87) and the 100 backstroke (1:05.46).
To start the action, Monter (Omaha North H.S.) swam the second leg for a 200 medley team that won in 1:59.06, nearly seven seconds better than the Mustangs. Individually, Monter won the 200 individual medley (2:26.33) and 100 breaststroke (1:14.70).
Other winners in swimming were Kansas senior
Zhu Zhu Lundin Daniels in the 50 free (26.49) and Ralston senior Alex Prochaska in the 100 free (58.55). These two also swam on the 200 medley relay team.
Finally, junior Nicki De Vries (Long Beach, Calif.) picked up 18 more points in diving. She scored 158.20 points on the 3-meter board and 117.10 at one-meter.
UNK stays in Iowa for tomorrow's Morningside Invite.
