Box Score Kearney, Neb. – All-American forward Lizzy Jeronimus scored 19 points and 10th-ranked Pittsburg State had a plus 10 rebounding margin to defeat Nebraska Kearney, 87-68, Thursday night in Kansas.
The Gorillas are now 22-3 (12-2) while the Lopers fall to 11-13 (5-10).
UNK led 10-7 about four minutes into the game as South Dakota sophomore
Kelsey Fitzgerald hit back-to-back threes. However, the Gorillas responded with a 24-9 run to take control. Battling some foul trouble, the Lopers got the deficit down to six right before the break but Pitt started the second half on a 23-10 run and never looked back.
Jeronimus reached her game-high point total by making nine free throws and going 5 of 9 from the field. Playing 21 minutes, she also had six boards, two assists, a block and a steal.
Four other Gorillas reached double figures, including three reserves. The Pitt bench finished with 36 points and 12 rebounds, led by guard Morgan Westhoff (12 points; 4 of 5 threes).
Pitt shot an even 50% from the field (28 of 56) and went 23 of 29 at the line. Having 36 rebounds, they had 14 second chance points and tallied 30 points off of 19 Loper turnovers.

Javona Wynne had her best effort of the season, going for seven points, three assists, two steals and a rebound.
