Balk Helps Lopers Beat Pueblo

Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Senior second baseman Colby Roming led off the ninth inning with a double and scored on a balk to help Nebraska Kearney beat Colorado State-Pueblo, 3-2, Saturday in Colorado.

Four pitchers combined on an eight-hitter with Wyoming senior southpaw Aaron Smith earning the win and North Platte junior Joe Smidt picking up the save. Besides Droll and Roming, senior leadoff hitter Brandon Landanger was 2 for 5 with a run scored.

Overall, the contest featured 22 runners left on base, 15 hits,12 different pitchers, seven hit batters and multiple player and coach (CSUP) ejections.

The series concludes Sunday afternoon.
