Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska Kearney baseball team scored three runs in the top of the eighth inning to slip past Central Oklahoma, 7-4, Saturday afternoon in Edmond, Okla.
UNK (8-6) took three of four from the Bronchos (2-7) on MIAA "Opening Weekend."
The Lopers led 3-0 after four full but UCO used three hits and a passed ball to score two in the fifth. Both teams scored unearned runs in the seventh to setup an eventful eighth.

Danny Droll (1 for 3, one run, one RBI) at first and two down, senior catcher
Max Ayoub (Grand Island) lofted a ball to left field. UCO couldn't field it cleanly, not only allowing Landanger and Droll to score but also Ayoub, who just be the relay throw home.
On a day where UCO stranded 11 and UNK left just two on base, senior 2b
Coby Roming (Canyon, Texas) went 2 for 4 with two RBI's and senior DH
Dillon Schroeder (Kearney Catholic H.S.) went 2 for 4 with two runs.

Chayse Gulzow (Grand Island) earned the win by allowing no earned runs in 2.1 innings of relief work. North Platte junior closer
Joe Smidt worked the ninth to record his fourth save of 2015. Finally, junior starter
Chris Sievers (Loveland, Colo.) allowed two earned and fanned four in 5.2 innings.
Weather permitting, UNK hosts Northeastern State next weekend at Memorial Field.
