Kyle Honeycutt hit a two-out, walk-off Grand Slam to hit for the cycle and help Nebraska Kearney rally past Ouachita Baptist (pronounced wash-ih-taw), 10-7, Friday evening in Grand Prairie, Texas.

HERE The Tigers (3-2), from Arkadelphia, Ark., scored two unearned runs with two outs in the top of the ninth to grab their first lead of the day.

Brandon Landanger (Kearney H.S.) drew a walk and senior 3b
Danny Droll (Penrose, Colo.) was hit by a pitch to start the bottom of the inning. OBU reliever Lance Cullum managed to strikeout two of the next three Lopers but senior SS Dillon Schroder (3 for 5, three runs) kept hope alive with an infield single.
That brought up Honeycutt (Millard South H.S.), who already was 3 for 4 with two RBI's. That included a single to start the second, a two-run triple in the sixth and a double in the eighth.
He promptly ended the game with a homer – his first as a Loper -- over the left field fence.
Junior closer
Joe Smidt (North Plate) earned a rare win as he fanned one and allowed no earned runs in working the ninth. For a second straight start, Colorado true freshman
Mitchell Robinson threw well, allowing one earned on nine hits over 6.0 innings.
UNK had leads of 3-0, 5-2 and 6-5 but the Tigers used 15 hits and took advantage of two Loper errors and a passed ball to almost pull out the win. OBU, a 25 win team in 2014, scored all of its runs over the final four innings.
Junior
Connor Messinger (Niwot, Colo.) was set to be the Kearney hero as he delivered an RBI pinch hit single in the the eighth. On the play, Honeycutt was thrown out at home.
The Lopers face the Southwestern Oklahoma State Bulldogs tomorrow at 10:00 a.m.
