Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Junior Cassie Roessing and freshman Meg Housholder each threw complete games and the Nebraska Kearney offense produced 22 hits to sweep a doubleheader at Lindenwood, 3-1 and 20-2 (5 innings), Friday afternoon in St. Charles, Mo.

The Lopers improve to 5-16 (4-6) while the Lions fall to 5-23 (1-9).

In game one, Roessing (Phoenix, Ariz.) improved to 4-2 by tossing a seven-hitter. Striking out eight and walking just three, she shut out LWU over the final four innings.

The Lopers got an RBI ground out from Blair junior 1b Kate Ruwe in the first inning and then got a leadoff triple from Lincoln sophomore 2b Emilee Jonas in the seventh.

With one down, the Lions chose to intentional walk leadoff hitter Rebecca Wyatt (2 for 3, two runs). She stole second and then moved to third, with Jonas scoring, on a passed ball. An RBI fielder's choice from Ralston sophomore Taylre Keenan added an insurance run.

The Lions Kendall Ryndak was the tough luck loser, allowing one earned in seven full innings. She fanned 11 in throwing a five-hitter.

The Loper bats exploded in the night cap as they used 17 hits to score seven runs in both the third and fourth innings. Fourteen of those hits were singles with UNK also drawing six walks.

Individually, Ruwe went 5 for 5 with a run scored and six RBI's with five others have two hits apiece, including California junior Sam Liebmann and Keenan. Finally, Housholder earned her first collegiate win by allowing two earned on five hits and two walks. She fanned four and blanked LWU over the final three innings.

UNK is at Lincoln Saturday afternoon.
