Cassie Roessing threw four innings of strong relief to help Nebraska-Kearney beat Northeastern State, 10-6, in the second game of a double header Saturday at Dryden Park.
The RiverHawks (14-18, 6-8) used hit two solo homers to win game one, 4-2.
UNK (10-21, 8-8), which has won seven of its last 12 games, erased a 2-1 deficit in the nightcap thanks to a six-run third. The big inning featured a two-run double by sophomore 2b 
Emilee Jonas (Omaha Skutt) and a three-run double off the bat of sophomore LF 
Taylre Keenan (Ralston).
Going 3 for 4 from the cleanup spot, Ruwe (3 for 4) had a two-run single in the fifth and RBI singles in the first and third. She is now hitting .449 on the season with 42 RBI's.
Roessing (Phoenix, Ariz.) earned her ninth win by allowing no earned runs in four full innings. Replacing freshman starter 
Meg Housholder (Parker, Colo.) in the fourth, she allowed just three hits and walked two while fanning three. Roessing got out of a bases loaded jam in the fourth thanks to a fielder's choice, pop up and ground out.
In game one, Roessing went the distance for the third time this weekend, strikeout out eight but giving up solo dingers in the fourth and sixth innings. UNK led 2-0 but the 'Hawks Kayce Wooldridge (8-7) allowed just six base runners (three hits, two walks and a hit batter).

Bailee Jensen (Papillion) had Kearney's lone RBI in the setback.
Next week, NW Missouri State and Missouri Western State come to town.
