Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Senior Kate Shockley threw a complete game four-hitter and senior Jessica Wilkes threw 2.2 innings of scoreless relief to help Central Missouri sweep a double header from Nebraska Kearney, 6-5 and 6-1, Sunday afternoon in Warrensburg.
In the nightcap, Shockley improved to 2-3 as she struck out six and walked two in going the distance. After allowing a first inning run, she blanked UNK the rest of the way.
At the plate, the Jennies (8-5, 4-0) scored two in the third and three more times in the fourth. Finishing with 10 hits, UCM's first three hitters were a combined 6 for 9 with three RBI's and three runs scored.
UNK (1-12, 1-3) also scored early in game one as they jumped out to a 4-1 lead after two innings. Leadoff hitter
Rebecca Wyatt (Glendale, Ariz.), who scored the Lopers lone run in game two, had a two-run triple in the second and finished 2 for 4.
However, Wilkes blanked Kearney down the stretch and got out of two late jams. UNK had the potential tying run at second in both the sixth and seventh innings but Wilkes got three ground outs and a pop up to end the one out threats. The Lopers also left a runner at third in the fifth.
