McKenzie Brown scored a season-high 20 points to help Nebraska-Kearney dominate York College, 92-39, Friday evening at the Health & Sports Center.
This was UNK's first game in 20 days and the win helps the Lopers improve to 4-8 and end a four-game losing streak. York remains 0-14 as this was an exhibition by NAIA rules.
Never trailing and holding the Panthers to single digits in both the first and third quarters, UNK's 53-point margin of victory ties for 10th best in school history. This also marks just the 22nd time in Loper lore an opponent has been held under 40 points.
UNK finished with a plus 17 rebounding margin, saw 12 different players score and tallied 18 fast break points. York finished the night with 30 turnovers, leading to 36 Loper points, and went 14 of 42 (33%) from the field.
Brown (G.I. Northwest) went 5 of 10 from behind the three point line to reach her game-high point total. Going 7 of 13 from the field, she also had four assists and three steals. The five treys are a new career-high with the point total just two off her career-high, achieved most recently in March 2015 against Central Oklahoma.
