Lions Take Game Two of Weekend Series

Box Score Kearney, Neb. – Junior right hander Greg Hartlieb struck out seven and allowed four hits over seven innings to help Lindenwood beat Nebraska-Kearney, 14-1, Saturday at Memorial Field.

This was the second of a three-game series.

Winning for the second time this season, Hartlieb (6-6, 225 lbs.) blanked UNK over the first five innings as he allowed just one hit.  Offensively, the Lions tallied 17 hits and also took advantage of five walks and three errors to score three in the third and nine in the fourth.

The faithful fourth featured five singles, three walks, a three-run homer from freshman center fielder Kyle Teter and five runs coming after two outs. From the eight hole, Teter went 2 for 5 with two runs and those three RBI's with leadoff hitter and left fielder Wes Degener 4 for 5 with three runs.

For UNK, senior Kyle Honeycutt (Millard South H.S.) had an RBI with senior John Watson (Shawnee, Okla.) allowing no earned runs over the final 3.1 innings.

The series finale starts Sunday at noon.
