Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – Freshmen Jordan Johnson and Emily Robinson tossed complete games and senior leadoff hitter Ali Jo Rogers drove in seven to help Central Missouri take a double header from Nebraska-Kearney, 9-4 and 6-1, Saturday afternoon at Dryden Park.
The Jennies improve to 10-9 (3-1) with the Lopers falling to 6-12 (0-4).
In game one, Robinson (5-3) allowed seven hits and worked around five walks to earn the win. Fanning three, she blanked UNK over the final three innings.
A shortstop, Rogers (3 for 4, three runs & five RBI's) hit a homer on the day's very first pitch. She later hit a three-run shot in the fifth. Also for the Jennies, senior designated player Alex Leonhart (2 for 3) hit a two-out, three-run double in the second.
For UNK, Blair senior first baseman
Kate Ruwe kept up her torrid place at the plate, finishing 2 for 3 with two RBI's. She hit her team-best seventh homer in the first. That gives her 24 long balls in her career, tied fof fifth on the Loper all-time list.
A Millard South graduate, Johnson is now 4-1 after throwing a four-hitter in the nightcap. She shut out UNK until the seventh and finished with a walk and a strikeout.
The Jennies scored all of its runs over the first four innings, including a three spot in the second. Rogers went 2 for 2 with two runs, two RBI's and a stolen base with Robinson having two RBI's as the DP.
Sophomore southpaw
Morgan Karlberg (Eaton, Colo.) went the distance for UNK, allowing just six hits and four walks. Offensively, Ruwe went 2 for 2 with Arizona senior center fielder
Paige Hamelin 2 for 3 with an RBI.
UNK hosts Chadron State Tuesday in a double header beginning at 3:00 p.m.
