Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The Northeastern State RiverHawks scored nine runs over the final three innings to beat Nebraska-Kearney, 12-10, Sunday afternoon in Tahlequah, Okla.
Omaha sophomore designated hitter
Dallas Schramm (2 for 5, three runs & four RBI's) continued his torrid offensive pace as he homered for a fourth straight game and also had a three-run double.
The Lopers (13-20, 10-14) also saw Omaha senior first baseman
Kyle Honeycutt go 4 for 5 with a run and two RBI's. Batting right behind Schramm in the lineup, he belted his sixth homer of the year in a five-run fifth.
To complete the series sweep, NSU (19-15, 13-11) erased an 8-3 deficit with a six spot in its half of the sixth. The key inning featured five singles and a two out, two-run double from Bryce Davenport.
Texas sophomore third baseman
Josh Estrada (1 for 3, three runs) tied things at nine when he led off the seventh with his sixth dinger of the season. A sac fly from Omaha sophomore left fielder
Shane Stock gave the Lopers the lead back but NSU countered with a run in the bottom of the inning and two more in the eighth. The final runs of the game were unearned as UNK committed two errors.
Center fielder Cody Begovich (3 for 5, two runs & three RB's) paced a 12-hit NSU attack with Zack Hammock (4-1) winning for the second time this weekend. He allowed just one base runner over the final three innings.
UNK is at Fort Hays State Wednesday night.
