Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 Kearney, Neb. – The 13th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball finished the weekend with a 4-0 record after sweeping Cal State Los Angeles (-13, -19, -12) and St. Cloud State (-7, -14, -23) Saturday at the Oredigger Volleyball Classic in Golden.

Losing just one set over the two days, the Lopers hit .354 in the tournament, averaging 13.5 kills per set on offense and 13.5 kills and 1.9 blocks per set on defense.

Not surprisingly, senior right side Annie Wolfe (Omaha Marian H.S.) led the way, hitting .539 over the four matches while averaging 3.54 kills, 1.69 digs, 0.77 blocks and 0.69 assists per set.

Against the CSULA Golden Eagles (1-3), no Loper reached double digits in kills but three had nine and two more added six apiece. UNK hit .457, committing just three errors in 81 swings, while registering 5.0 team blocks.

Ogallala sophomore outside Kendall Schroer came off the bench to have nine kills and hit .421 with Grand Island freshman middle Mackenzie Puckett having 6 kills in 10 attempts with no errors. Finally, South Dakota sophomore setter Lindsey Smith had 32 assists and nine digs.

The Huskies (1-3) were no match for the Lopers, scoring just 21 points over the first two sets. UNK hit .303 while SCSU was barely over zero (.026).

Smith again handed out 32 assists and also provided a team-best 11 digs and three of the Lopers four services aces. Wolfe was unstoppable, having 17 kills and a .667 attach percentage. The kill total is three of her career high with the percentage just outside the UNK all-time top 10 for a single match.

Finally, Minden sophomore Ali Rowse had nine digs

UNK hosts the annual New Victorian Inn & Suites/Runza Fall Classic next weekend at the Health & Sports Center. The Northwestern Oklahoma State Cowgirls are the first opponent on Friday at 12:15 p.m.
