Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers fell to Division I Northern Colorado, 146-46, and Colorado State-Pueblo, 149-69, Saturday afternoon in Greeley.
This was UNK's
final regular season event of the 2016-17 season.
Finishing 2-5 in duals this winter, the Aqualopers won the 200 freestyle relay in 1:54.79. The true freshmen foursome was led by Alyssa Hoffman (St. Cloud, Minn.) and anchored by
Caroline Stieglitz (Colorado Springs, Colo.).
With UNK having one entry in most individual events, Stieglitz was fifth in the 200 butterfly (2:31.54) with Hoffman third in the 200 backstroke (2:35.83) and fourth in the 1,000 free (12:39.25).
Next, Lincoln freshman
Mikara Feit was runner up in the 500 free (6:19.24) and seventh in the 200 free (2:19.74) with Scottsbluff freshman
Anna Yanke fourth in 200 individual medley (2:32.85) and sixth in the 200 breaststroke (2:44.95).
Finally, in diving, California junior
Nicki DeVries scored 203.32 points to place third at one meter. She also was third at three meters (194.95).
UNK heads to the RMAC Championships Feb. 8-11 at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction.
