Kearney, Neb. – For a second consecutive season, the 20th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team has duals in November.

After battling Division I member Northern Iowa and Utah Valley last year in Cedar Falls, UNK heads to Northern California on Saturday to face San Francisco State and Division I Fresno State.

These early season duals were originally set to be held outside. However, cool temperatures and rain in San Francisco have moved things inside to "The Swamp", SFSU's gymnasium. Check the Loper schedule page for start times and live media links.

The SFSU Gators are an affiliate member of the RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) in wrestling. First-year head coach Jason Welch replaced longtime leader Lars Jensen in the offseason and his team is led by 133 pounder Nathan Cervantez, who is 12th in the preseason rankings.

Fresno was a longtime Western power in wrestling before dropping the sport in 2006. The 'Dawgs are now back and a member of the Big XII Conference in wrestling. They are led by former Iowa star Troy Steiner.

These duals will be Fresno's first official events since the 2005 NCAA Division I Championships. The roster features no seniors but several Division I junior and sophomore transfers. Prior to facing UNK, the 'Dawgs will dual SFSU at 1 p.m. Central.

UNK is 1-1 all-time vs. the Gators and has never faced Fresno in a dual. The Lopers have beaten several D1 schools in duals, the last being Bloomsburg (Pa.) and George Mason (Va.). in 2014.

Also on Saturday, a few Lopers will be in Des Moines to take part in the Grand View University Open.
