Kearney, Neb. – The fifth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team is the top seed in the
2017 MIAA Tournament and will host Emporia State Tuesday night at 6 p.m. in the Health & Sports Center.
The top four seeds in the eight-team event host matches on campus sites Tuesday. After first round action, the highest remaining seed hosts the semifinals and finals on Nov. 17-18. All tickets are general admission ($5.00) with those six & under getting in for free.
Earlier this fall, UNK (30-3) swept the Hornets (15-16) in Kearney (-24, -14, -20) and won in four sets in Kansas (-19, 22-25, -20, -21). The two squads also met last year in the MIAA first round with UNK sweeping that match.
Kearney won the MIAA tourney last fall and also in 2012.
