Box Score Kearney, Neb. – The Colorado-Colorado Springs baseball team struck for six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning to defeat Nebraska-Kearney, 8-0, Friday evening in Colorado.
This was the first of a four-game set between the Mountain Lions (5-3) and Lopers (4-5).
Sophomore right hander Colin Cicere (2-0) struck out eight over six innings and didn't walk a batter to earn the win. Two relievers worked the final three innings and combined for four K's, a walk and hit batter.
UCCS, playing at home for the first time in school history, busted open a close game with six hits in the fourth inning. The big blow was a one-out single up the middle off the bat of leadoff hitter Zach Hall. With a Loper error, two runs scored on the play.

The two teams will play a double header on Saturday.
