Bradley Brown and
Mitchell Robinson were stellar in starting roles on the mound to help Nebraska-Kearney take a double header from Colorado-Colorado Springs, 3-1 (8 innings) and 3-0, Saturday evening in Colorado.
With the wins, the Lopers improve to 6-5 while the Mountain Lions fall to 5-5.
In the night cap, Robinson (Golden, Colo.) threw a seven inning complete game four-hitter. Now 3-0, he fanned seven while walking just one. Robinson did have to work out of two bases loaded jams in the fourth. He got a comeback double play ball and, after a walk, a 6-4 ground out.
Offensively, the Lopers mustered six hits, three coming in a two-run seventh inning. Junior first baseman

Calvin Rudolph (Millard South H.S.) had back-to-back RBI singles with senior center fielder
Easton Edmond (Lincoln SW) going yard in the fifth.
Brown (Aurora, Colo.) moved to 2-0 on the year by allowing no earned runs over seven full innings in the first game. The southpaw struck out six Mountain Lions while surrendering seven hits and a walk. UCCS left two runners on base in the third and sixth innings.
In the top of the eighth inning, junior shortstop
Scott Platt (Longmont, Colo.) delivered a two-run single to up the middle to provide the winning margin. Also for UNK, junior catcher
Billy Hayes (Lemont, Ill.) went 2 for 3 with a run and RBI while senior right hander
Weston Glienke (Spencer, Ia.) recorded a save by throwing a scoreless eighth.
