Women Home Tuesday; Men Off Until Thursday

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball team will host the Lindenwood Lions in an MIAA Tournament first round game on Tuesday, February 28th.

The Loper-Lion winner advances to the quarterfinals Thursday in Kansas City to face league champ and nationally-ranked Pittsburg State. Go HERE for the complete bracket.

General admission tickets for Tuesday's game are $10 (adults) and $5 (students) with those five and under free. Because this is a postseason event, UNK all-sports passes and parents pass lists cannot be accepted. Tickets will be available at www.lopertickets.com or at the door.

Floor seats will be available for purchase ($15) beginning Tuesday morning. For those that have reserved floor seats for the regular season, contact the UNK ticket office prior to Tuesday to make reservations.

The Lopers (12-15, 8-11) are 1-3 all-time in the MIAA Tournament, picking up a first round win over Southwest Baptist, 75-46, last season. Including its days in the RMAC (Rocky Mountain Athletic Conf.), UNK is 15-0 in first round home conference tourney games.

In the only meeting with Lindenwood (12-15, 7-12) this year, UNK got 43 combined points from juniors Michaela Barry and McKenzie Brown to post a 69-55 win on January 26th in the Health & Sports Center.

The UNK men get Monday's first round off as they are the third seed. The Lopers (19-9, 12-7) will play Thursday in Kansas City against either sixth-seed Washburn (19-9, 11-8) or 11th-seed Southwest Baptist (15-13, 8-11).Go HERE for the complete bracket.

Since joining the conference in 2012, UNK is 4-3 in the MIAA's, reaching the finals last season.
