Mitchell Robinson tossed his third complete game of the year and the top of the order provided the pop to help Nebraska-Kearney beat Washburn, 11-2, Friday night in Topeka.
This was the first of a three game set. Saturday's contest has been pushed back one hour to 2:00 p.m. due to expected rain in the area.
Robinson (Golden, Colo.) scattered 10 hits and issued only one walk in throwing 111 pitches. Fanning two and blanking Washburn over the final five innings, he is now 4-3 on the season with a 4.35 ERA and a solid three-to-one strikeout-to-walk ratio.
At the plate, UNK pounded out 14 hits (five doubles) and drew six walks. They got to 2016 MIAA Pitcher of the Year Nick Silva, who allowed four earned on seven hits and three walks over five innings.
Leading from start to finish, the Lopers tallied single runs in each of the first three innings and then added another in the sixth. A two-run seventh was followed by a five-run ninth. That inning featured four hits and a walk.

Jacob Richardson (Goddard, Kan.), sophomore left fielder
Pate Katechis (Longmont, Colo.) and junior catcher
Dallas Schramm (Millard North) – were a combined 7 for 17 with four runs scored and seven RBI's.
Continuing a recent hot streak, Richardson had three hits in his first three at bats, Katechis scored three thanks to two doubles and Schramm belted his fifth homer, a two-run shot, in the ninth.

Calvin Rudolph (Millard South) went 3 for 5 with three runs and an RBI.
