Kearney, Neb. – Expected high winds have changed the home openers for the Nebraska-Kearney baseball and softball teams.
 
In softball, the Loper-Chadron State double header scheduled for Tuesday, March 7th, has been canceled and will not be made up. UNK will now have its first home games of the season this Friday, March 10th, against nationally-ranked Central Oklahoma. First pitch for the double dip at Dryden Park is set for 2:00 p.m.
 
On the baseball diamond, UNK (7-8) has pushed back Tuesday's single nine-inning game with Peru State until Wednesday, March 8th, at 3:00 p.m. On the original Loper schedule, Midland was listed as the opponent but the Bobcats (7-4) recently replaced the Warriors.
