Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney baseball team begins a five-game home stand tomorrow (April 4th) night when Northwest Missouri State comes to town.
The finale of a three-game series was moved to UNK due to expected rain in the Maryville area. First pitch is set for 4:00 p.m. This will be just the Lopers sixth home contest of 2017.
Northeastern State (April 7-9) and Fort Hays State (April 11) are the next clubs to come to Memorial Field. Check the

The Bearcats (20-10, 9-8) took the first two games of the series by scores of 11-1 (Maryville) and 8-2 (Kearney). NW has won nine of 11 and is riding a four-game win streak.
Currently 12-6 on the road, the 'Cats will likely throw junior right hander Eddy Kraber (2-0, 3.34 ERA). He started each of the last two games against UNK and won both, allowing three earned on three walks and eight hits over 11.2 innings.
NW is batting .333 against Loper pitching, led by junior infielder Landon Figg and senior infielder James Holler. Both are 4 for 8 with Holler scoring four times and having three RBI's. On the year, senior infielder Ozzie Adams is at .336 with eight doubles, a triple, two homers and 27 RBI's.
On the other side of the field, UNK (9-21, 2-15) has seen senior second baseman
Matt Salamon (Owasso, Okla.) and junior infielder/outfielder
Josh Estrada (Houston) both go 2 for 5 against NW. On the mound, redshirt freshman
Peyton Pocock (Kearney H.S.) threw 3.0 innings of scoreless relief last week.He sports an 0.90 ERA over five total appearances (10.0 innings) this spring.
For the entire season, fourth-year junior catcher/designated hitter
Dallas Schramm (Millard North H.S.) leads UNK in most offensive categories. The only Loper to have started all 30 games, he is at .350 with 10 doubles, five dingers and 30 RBI's.
In the last 10 games, senior outfielder
Jacob Richardson (Goddard, Kan.) is batting .390 with four doubles and seven RBI's. UNK's leadoff hitter, he also has been perfect in 16 fielding chances.
The NSU RiverHawks (17-11, 11-6), riding a five-game win streak that has moved them into third in the MIAA, are at Pittsburg State on Tuesday for its midweek game.
