Home Opener Delayed Again as Games Moved to Hays

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney softball team, due to expected inclement weather conditions, has moved its home games this weekend from Dryden Park to Hays, Kan.

The Lopers (4-17) will now play Lindenwood (13-9, 2-2) and Lincoln (3-15, 0-4) at the Dusty Glassman Fields in Kansas. UNK will face LWU Friday at 2 and 4 p.m. and then square off against the Blue Tigers Saturday at 12 and 2 p.m.

This is UNK's second trip to Hays this season as a makeshift tournament was thrown together at Fort Hays State the weekend of February 16-18. That helped replace a canceled tourney in Arkansas.

UNK's scheduled home opener was supposed to take place on Tuesday, March 6, against Chadron State but that double header was postponed because of weather. The Lopers hope to play at Dryden Park next weekend when Southwest Baptist and Central Missouri come to town.
