Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney softball plays in its fourth and final tournament of the 2018 season when it travels to Missouri Southern State this weekend for the annual
Teri Mathis-Zenner Memorial Invite.
The Lopers (3-10) face three teams from the Great Lakes Valley Conference – Drury (3-3), McKendree (7-2) and Rockhurst (5-4) – as well as Sioux Falls (2-3). UNK beat USF, 10-4, last weekend in St. Cloud, Minn.

Currently at the plate, the Lopers have four regulars batting at least .300. In addition, sophomore infielder
Macey Nelson (Temecula, Calif.) shed a redshirt last weekend and promptly batted .438 (7 for 16) over five games.
Next, junior first baseman
Cheyenne Hamilton (Fredrick, Colo.) has three doubles, two homers and a team-best 11 RBI's with sophomore catcher/infielder
Alexis Howe (Papillion) having scored a team-high seven runs.
Senior
Meg Housholder (Parker, Colo.) has a team-best two wins in the circle with true freshman
Sarah Handrahan (Festus, Mo.) leading UNK in both K's (15) and strikeouts (26.1).
Weather and field conditions permitting, UNK will host Chadron State Tuesday, March 6, at Dryden Park.
