Kearney, Neb. – The now fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team remains on the road this weekend when it travels to Missouri Western State and Northwest Missouri State.

This is the first round with the Griffons (9-8) and Bearcats (13-3); the two teams will come to the Health & Sports Center the first weekend in November. Check the Loper schedule page for first serve times and media links.

UNK (17-1, 4-1) is coming off an impressive 3-2 win at No. 24 Regis Tuesday night in Denver. Kearney won despite being outhit, out dig and out killed. But, per usual, the Lopers had fewer attack errors than the Rangers.

One reason why Regis struggled down the stretch was UNK's 12.0 team blocks. The Blue & Gold had a season-best 13.0 stuffs in a 3-2 win over No. 18 Central Oklahoma last Friday night. On the season, UNK now has 125.0 team blocks, three more than its opponents. This resent surge at the net has the Lopers fourth in the MIAA in blocks per set at 1.57.

Offensively, UNK is now third in the league in hitting efficiency (.248) and sixth in kills per set (13.08). The Lopers have an unprecedented five players between 102-157 kills. Outsides Julianne Jackson (157) and Kendall Schroer (141) lead the way with junior middle Mackenzie Puckett (.347) ranking sixth in the MIAA in attack percentage.

The Lopers return home Tuesday night to face NAIA-member College of Saint Mary. The match has been pushed back to a 7 p.m. start.
