Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers returned to action this weekend, taking part in the Colorado State-Pueblo Triangular Saturday afternoon.

UNK was scheduled to swim against Adams State and CSU-Pueblo Friday in Alamosa, Colo., in another triangular but that was canceled due to inclement weather. To make up for the missed action, today's triangular featured 16 instead of 11 events. The Aqualopers, minus a couple of two swimmers, fell to the ThunderWolves by a 234-46 score and to the ASU Grizzlies, 184-64.

Oakland sophomore Andrea Werner had UNK's top finish as she was third in the 100 butterfly (1:05.35). She also swam the second leg on the third place 200 medley relay team (2:03.49), was fifth in the 200 fly (2:37.48) and sixth in the 100 freestyle (1:02.86).

Next, Lincoln junior Mikara Feit had a busy day, swimming lead on the 200 medley team and pacing the Aqualopers in both the 50 free (4th/27.51) and 200 backstroke (5th/2:27.17). Also, Arizona sophomore Gabby Buttermore was fifth in both the 100 (1:18.13) and 200 (2:49.58) breaststrokes and was the second leg for the fourth place 200 free team (1:58.99). Finally, Omaha freshman Anna DeSordi placed fourth in the tough 1,650 free (22:03.20).

UNK's scheduled home meet next Saturday vs. Augustana has been canceled. The Aqualopers will swim again on Saturday, January 26 at the Western State Triangular in Gunnison, Colo.
