Kearney, Neb – The Nebraska-Kearney women's basketball team returns to MIAA action this weekend as it travels to Southwest Baptist and defending national champion Central Missouri.

The Lopers (7-4, 0-2), who'll see SBU and UCM only once this season, are looking for its first road win. The 'Cats (4-7, 0-2) have a 4-3 home mark while the 15th-ranked Jennies (8-2, 1-1) are just 2-0 in Warrensburg as they've played four neutral and four road games. UNK is third in the MIAA in scoring defense, allowing just 55.4 points per game. Opponents are making only 36 percent of their shots against the Lopers which includes a 54 of 186 (29.0 pct.) effort from behind the arc.

Offensively Kearney is the league leader in assists per game (16.9), a mark that ranks 21st  nationally. This also places UNK second in the MIAA in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.16).

Individually, Crofton sophomore Kelsey Sanger ranks ninth in dimes per game (3.3) and also is second in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.1).  The only Loper in double figures, Sanger is one of eight players between 5.1 and 10.5 points per night. To date, UNK has had six different players lead in scoring.

The Lopers return home next weekend to face nationally-ranked Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State.
