Aqualopers Wrap Up Regular Season; RMAC's in mid-February

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers finished up the regular season at the Western Colorado Triangular Saturday in Gunnison.

Swimming at 7,703 feet, UNK fell to the host Mountaineers, 165-37, and the Adams State Grizzlies, 129-71.

The Aqualopers stated the meet with a runner up in the finish in the 200 yard medley relay (2:00.25). The foursome consisted of Lincoln junior Mikara Feit, Arizona sophomore Gabby Buttermore, Oakland sophomore Andrea Werner and Kansas freshman Claire Nash.

Later, Werner was second in the 10-person 100 butterfly (1:04.57), Nash was runner up in the nine-person 100 freestyle (56.67) and Feit came in the third in the eight-person 100 backstroke (1:06.68). Finally, Nash placed fourth in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.67), Feit was fifth in the 1,000 free (12:41.09) and Minnesota junior Alyssa Hoffman was fifth in the 200 free (2:14.58).

UNK is now off until the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) Championships February 13-16 in Lewisville, Texas. RMAC affiliate member Oklahoma Baptist serves as host institution.
