Flames Edge the Aqualopers, 122-114

Kearney, Neb. – The College of Saint Mary Flames won eight events to slip past Nebraska-Kearney, 122-114, Saturday morning in Omaha.

This was the Aqualopers first dual of the 2019-20 season.

CSM held a 111-110 lead heading into the 13th and final event of the day, the 400 freestyle relay. The Flames turned in a 3:56.55, good for 11 team points, while UNK managed a 4:10.20 to score four points.

Illinois freshman Olivia Forrest paced the Aqualopers, winning both the 50 backstroke (30.81) and 500 free (5:41.76). She also was anchor for the 400 free team, lead on a 200 free "B" team that tallied two team points and second in the 200 back (2:25.19).

Next, Lincoln senior Mikara Feit placed first in the 200 back (2:24.20), was lead for the winning 200 medley team (1:57.57), anchor for the fastest 200 free foursome (1:45.92) and runner up in the 50 back (30.87). Finally, Oakland junior Andrea Werner was runner up in the 50 fly (29.15) with Kansas
sophomore Claire Nash the same in the 50 free (26.24).

UNK is now idle until November 1 when it'll be at home for two events.
