First Home Games Moved Back Again

3/29/2019 2:36:00 PM

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney softball team will finally get to play at home but the Lopers will have to wait a full day due to weather and field conditions.

The MIAA double headers against No. 2 Central Oklahoma and Northeastern State, already pushed back to Sunday and Monday, March 31 and April 1, have now moved back another 24 hours. The Lopers (8-14, 4-4) will battle the Bronchos (26-2, 8-0) on Monday at 1 and 3 p.m. and then take on the RiverHawks (19-12, 7-1) on Tuesday, April 2, at the same times. All four games will be at Patriot Park.

Since the start of the 2018 season, due to weather, UNK has had eight true home games (12 after this weekend) and 10 "home" games in either Hays or Great Bend, Kan. In addition, the 2019 Loper schedule has been changed in six of the first eight weekends because of inclement weather.

A rare home stand, weather permitting, continues next weekend when Northwest Missouri State and Missouri Western State come to town.
