Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney cross country teams head to Sioux Falls, S.D, on Friday to take part in the Augustana Twilight.

This is one of the largest cross country meets in the Midwest, drawing over 5,000 runners ranging from junior varsity high school team through college varsity squads. Nearly 70 high school teams and 30 colleges are expected to take part in a meet run under the lights on the Yankton Trail Park course.

A number of new features will improve the fan experience, including shirt vendors from Runners Block, additional restrooms, and four food vendors: Kettle Corn, Shaved Ice, Yellow Submarine, and Backyard BBQ.

UNK enters the year ranked sixth (men) and seventh (women) in the Central Region as well as preseason second (men) and third (women) in the MIAA preseason polls.

• 6 p.m. - JV Girls 4K
• 6:40 p.m. - JV Boys 4K
• 7:20 p.m. Varsity Girls 5K
• 8 p.m. - Varsity Boys 5K
• 8:30 p.m. - College Women 5K
• 9 p.m. - College Men Four Mile

Key information

• Admission to the park for the event is $10 per vehicle.  Fans and spectators will be asked to pay on entry to the park.
• Fans are encouraged to carpool or arrive by alternate means of transportation as entry by vehicle will be shut down once all parking spaces are full.
• The only entrance into the event is the Westbound lane on 57th St.
• Information packets can be picked up at the competition site starting at 5 p.m.
