Kearney, Neb. – The fourth-ranked Nebraska-Kearney wrestling team recorded five bonus point wins to blank Central Missouri, 44-0, Thursday night in Warrensburg.

This was the Lopers (6-4) first MIAA dual of the 2019-20 season. Earlier this week UNK was picked to win the conference dual title this winter.

Blanking the Mules for a second straight winter (94-0 combined score), UNK got a first period fall from Lincoln junior Wesley Dawkins (133 lbs.), a 17-2 tech fall from Iowa junior and top-ranked Matt Malcom (165 lbs.), a 16-0 tech fall from Delaware grad transfer Anthony Mancini (184 lbs.), a 12-1 major by Lincoln junior and 12th-ranked  Jonathan Killingsworth (165 lbs.) and a 45 second fall by South Carolina junior Talon Seitz (174 lbs.). For good measure Iowa junior and top-ranked Josh Portillo (125 lbs.) won by forfeit.

Geneva senior Jarrod Hinrichs (285 lbs.) did slip past Chase Miller by a 3-1 score with Kearney redshirt freshman Teontae Wilson (149 lbs.) doing the same to Emmett Kuntz, 8-7.

UNK is off this weekend before hosting the Midwest Duals next Friday and Saturday. A team of Loper reserves will wrestle Friday against junior colleges with the varsity facing Western State and New Mexico Highlands on Saturday.
