Day One in Edmond

Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers scored 188 points on the first day of the Eagle Invite in Edmond, Okla.

The three-day meet, hosted by Oklahoma Christian, features prelims in the morning and finals in the evening. Besides UNK and OCU, Texas-Permian Basin and Oklahoma Baptist are taking part as well as several men's teams.

Kansas junior Claire Nash reached the "A" final in the 50 free and turned in a 25.05 to place seventh. She also swam anchor for the seventh place 200 free relay team (1:42.68) and the sixth place 400 medley relay team (4:15.08). UNK also had "B" and "C" relay teams that picked up points. 

Next, UNK scored 50 points in the 500 free as they had eight of the 14 entries. Leading the way in fifth place was Colorado freshman Katie Cornelio (5:36.55) with Kansas freshman Reagan Yourdon (5:46.20) two spots back. Finally, Elkhorn freshman Macy Mollring was one of four Aqualpers to score in the 200 individual medley, coming in 10th thanks to a 2:21.66. That time is just outside the UNK all-time top 10 list.
