Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney Aqualopers scored 943 points to place third at the Eagle Invite this weekend in Edmond, Okla.

The three-day meet, hosted by Oklahoma Christian, featured morning prelims and event finals on Friday and Saturday and timed finals on Sunday.

OCU easily won (1,533.50 points) with Oklahoma Baptist (1,052.50 points), UNK and Texas-Permian Basin (663) the other women's teams in the field. Three men's squads competed as well.

Highlights on Sunday included Elkhorn freshman Macy Mollring and Colorado freshman Katie Cornelio cracking the UNK all-time top 10 in the 200 butterfly. Mollring was already seventh on that list thanks to a 2:24.83 earlier this year. She shaved two seconds off that time (2:22.67) to place third and move up to sixth on the list. Cornelio (2:24.55) was one place back and is now eighth in Aqualoper lore.

Next, UNK had three in the 1,650 freestyle top five, led by Norfolk sophomore Audrey Stelling (3rd/20:45.96), with Grand Island sophomore Hannah Wilson one of three Aqualopers in the 200 breaststroke top five. She turned in a 2:41.95 to finish third and tally 27 team points.

Finally on Sunday Kansas junior Claire Nash was fourth in the 100 free (54.21) and anchored the fourth place 400 free relay team (3:50.53). Swimming third was Doniphan freshman Ianna Fill who also led UNK with a seventh-place effort in the 200 backstroke (2:28.07).

On Saturday Mollring was fifth in the 400 individual medley in 5:00.06. That vaults into sixth place on the top 10 list. Columbus freshman Emily Miksch did the same in 100 breaststroke as she swam an 1:11.51 in prelims. Finishing seventh with an 1:11.71, that lower time ranks sixth best in school history.

UNK picked up 74 team points in the 200 free with Nash (7th/2:00.47) leading the way while Stelling did the same in the 100 backstroke. She was 14th in 1:05.97 as the Loper picked up 47 more points. Finally Cornelio was 10th in the 100 fly (1:03.60).

The Aqualopers are slated to be at home on Saturday (Nov. 21) against the College of St. Mary Flames. The dual begins at 11 a.m.
