Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney women's golf team shot a 36-hole total of 608 to finish seventh out of 19 teams at the Central Region Preview Monday in Hot Springs, Ark.

This two-day event was hosted by Henderson (Ark.) State at the par 72 Hot Springs C.C. This course will serve as the NCAA Central Regional site in May.

UNK continued its assault on the school-record book by having the third lowest 36-hole score in Loper lore and the eighth lowest 18-hole. In fairly nice weather conditions, Kearney had a 305 on Sunday and a 303 on Monday to beat seven schools from the Great American Conf. (GAC), three from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conf. (NSIC) and two from the MIAA. Central Missouri won (593) with No. 18 Arkansas Tech (595), Northeastern State (597) and Central Oklahoma (599) all close behind.

Colombian freshman Juliana Botero Molina tied for 11th place with a 4-over 148 (71-77). This marks her second 148 of the fall which is tied for the fifth best score in school history. Her tourney included five birdies and 24 pars and she was even on par 4 holes. Jacqueline Klemm of Ark Tech and Chiara Sturaro from Arkansas-Monticello tied for first, each shooting an even par 144, with Sturaro earning medalist honors thanks to a playoff win.

Also finishing in the Top 25 was Puerto Rico senior Faviola Gonzalez (T-18th; 151/79-72) and Kansas freshman Brooke King (T-23rd; 152/75-77). Gonzalez cards her fifth career round of 72 or better thanks to being even on par 3 holes with King one over on par 4 holes and managing four birdies. Finally, Kansas sophomore Allison Comer tied for 65th (162/85-77) and Arizona junior Paige Lucero and tied for 73rd (164; 80-84).

The Lopers finish up its fall season with a team to Central Missouri early next week.
