Kearney, Neb. – Six players registered at least five kills to help Nebraska-Kearney sweep Fort Hays State (-22, -14, -11) Thursday night at the Health & Sports Center.

This was UNK's second home match of the spring "practice" season. The Lopers and Tigers will meet again next month in Kansas.

Hays led the first set 9-5 but UNK went on a 13-5 run to turn the tide. This key stretch featured two kills and two blocks from Kearney senior middle Anna Squiers. The Tigers got within 24-22 before Kearney redshirt sophomore middle Bailee Sterling recorded one of her eight kills to close out the set.

Omaha senior right side Mary Katherine Wolfe (10) led in kills with Gothenburg junior outside Gracie Stienike (nine) and Sterling (eight) close behind. Next, Squiers had six kills and five blocks with Colorado junior outside/defensive specialist Breanna Jones at a team-best 14 digs, five kills and a .312 hitting efficiency.
