Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney softball team will have to wait for its 2021 home opener as inclement weather has postponed a recently scheduled double header with Metro State on March 24.

The Lopers (9-9, 1-3 MIAA), off since a March 10 date at Central Missouri, added the Roadrunners (4-4) to its schedule in hopes of playing home games before April. UNK's was slated to open at home last weekend (March 19-20) but those MIAA double headers were moved to mid-April. The Lopers and 'Runners are aiming to find a date to play later this spring.

UNK now heads to Emporia State (10-8, 0-2) on Friday and Washburn (16-3, 2-0) on Saturday. Check the schedule page for media links.
