Kearney, Neb. – The Nebraska-Kearney softball team's schedule has changed yet again, this time due to rain in the St. Joseph, Mo., area on Friday.

UNK (10-12) was to face six teams from the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) over three days this weekend. With Friday's rain canceling the entire slate of games in St. Joe, Central Missouri, Pittsburg State and Northwest Missouri are now stepping in to be co-hosts of the "Fairfield Inn & Suites Classic." Each site has at least four teams participating. Schedules vary based on weather in the area. 

The Lopers will now play double headers on both Saturday and Sunday at Missouri Western State's main field. Live stats will be available for each contest.

UNK will face the Bemidji (Minn.) State Beavers and Wisconsin-Parkside Rangers on both days. Bemidji is from the NSIC and was one of the teams originally set to play the Lopers; Parkside hails from Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conf. (GLIAC).

The tourney starts against BSU (3-18) Saturday at 10 a.m. followed by a game with UWP (3-13) at noon. On Sunday, Kearney and Parkside meet again at noon with the rematch vs. BSU coming at 2 p.m.

After having 26 games away from home, the Blue & Gold will be at Patriot Park next Saturday to face the Fort Hays State Tigers.
