Kearney, Neb. - Former Nebraska-Kearney head football coach Darrell Morris is a member of the 2022 Nebraska Football Hall of Fame Induction Class

The 2022 inductees were chosen by the Nebraska Football Hall of Fame, which is sponsored by the Nebraska Chapter of the National Football Foundation and the College Football Hall of Fame. The 2022 Hall of Fame class will be officially inducted at a Sept. 9 banquet in Lincoln and recognized the following day at the Huskers' home game against Georgia Southern.

A Tampa native and Northwest Missouri State quarterback, Morris was a longtime coach at UNK as both an assistant and head. He worked under fellow Hall of Fame Claire Boroff for most of the 1990's before taking over the reigns of the program in 2000. His teams won 101 games, won four Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) titles and reached the NCAA playoff four times. The 2009 team won the program's first-ever playoff game with the 2011 squad winning a school-record 11 games.

Morris recruited and coached some of the top players in school history including 17 All-Americans. That group is led by Harlon Hill Runner Up Justin Coleman (QB), record setting receiver Richie Ross and future NFL o-linemen Ryan Bachman, Stephen Goodin and Cole Manhart. Finally, Morris saw several of his assistants move onto become college or high school head coaches with two eventually working in the NFL.
