Rosella Meier All-Tourney Team Announced; Loper Tabbed by MIAA Too

Kearney, Neb. – Four members of the 10th-ranked Nebraska-Kearney volleyball team have been named to the 2022 Rosella Meier Fall Classic All-Tournament team.

The Lopers and No. 2 Washburn each went 4-0 this past weekend with No. 30 Central Washington (2-2), Midwestern State of Texas (1-3) and Minot State of North Dakota (0-4) rounding out the field. New Victorian Inn & Suites and Cunningham's sponsored the event.

Junior outside Emersen Cyza (Alliance), junior middles Fallon Stutheit (Johnson) and Bailee Sterling (Kearney) and sophomore right side Lauren Taubenheim (Lincoln) represent the Lopers.

Cyza, also the MIAA Offensive Player of the Week, came in at 4.21 kills per set with a .349 hitting efficiency. She had 20 kills and a key service ace in the come-from-behind win over CWU. Next, Sterling (2.43 kps; .343 pct.) and Stutheit (2.36 kps; .492) had strong offensive numbers while combining for 25 blocks. Finally, Taubenheim had an all-around effort; 1.9 kps, 2.9 digs per set, nine blocks and four assists.

UNK hosts NAIA Friends (Kan.) University tomorrow at 7 p.m. A three-set junior varsity match between the two schools starts at 5 p.m.
